Houses and apartment buildings require sufficient sound insulation to protect the inhabitant from external noise and neighbour's noise. Besides air borne noise attention must be given to prevent impact noise transmission. As a consequence, in some buildings acoustic measures are required using hard floor covering materials.

  In this apartment building
  Wienerberger first introduced
  flexible building junctions to reach a
  good sound insulation. Calculations
  and measurements showed that
  a good sound insulation can be
  achieved with less mass of the
