Last April the third master class on room acoustics took place. After A.C.
Gade and J.H. Rindel master E. Kahle shared his approach on designing room
acoustics in relation to architectural criteria. Interesting discussions
arise about the implications of room design on the resulting acoustic
quality and the correlation between the objective criteria and the
perceptual factors. The participants ‘experienced’ this correlation by a
listening test that was integral part of the master class. During a concert
of the Symphony Orchestra of New Russia they filled in questionnaires of
which the results can be found
here. One of the participant’s responses: “In a scientific environment you can breathe free from your daily work, concentrate on the information presented and exchange ideas and findings with colleagues from all over the world”. |
